"L'edat imminent" is an audiovisual project created by six undergraduate students of Audiovisual Communication at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona (UPF): Laura Corominas, Laura Serra, Clara Serrano, Gerard Simó, Ariadna Ulldemolins, and Pau Vall. The project originated as a Final Degree Project, for which a small fragment was filmed with the aim of turning it into a feature film.
The feature film explores the intergenerational bonds between grandchildren and grandparents, while questioning the conceptions and stigmas surrounding both old age and youth. The plot revolves around the tender and complex bonds of love and dependence that are established between Unai, an 18-year-old young man, and his grandmother, Nati, who is 83 years old.
The project has involved people connected to UPF and the world of film direction and production, such as Pep Garrido, Cèlia Rico, Carla Simón, and Aitor Martos.
